Some brands need no introduction — Warburtons is one of them. So when we were brought on by Joyful & Triumphant to retouch imagery for 150 Years in the Baking, the campaign marking Warburtons' 150th anniversary, it was a genuinely brilliant one to be part of.
Warburtons has been baking since 1876, when Thomas and Ellen Warburton opened a grocery store in Bolton — still family-run today, now heading into its sixth generation.

That kind of milestone doesn't come around often, and the campaign built to mark it matched the occasion: a short film fronted by Morgan Freeman, brought in to narrate 150 years of Warburtons' history in his own inimitable style — continuing the brand's run of star-studded ads, and putting one of the world's most recognisable voices behind a genuinely warm, funny piece of British storytelling.

Our part was the key art — creating the supporting visuals built to sit alongside the film across the wider campaign. Getting that imagery to hold its own next to a piece of storytelling this strong and exciting, with a cast and a shoot this good, is exactly the kind of project that reminds you why this job is exciting and at the same time carries a huge responsibility.

Huge congratulations to Warburtons on 150 years, and to the whole team at Joyful & Triumphant for a campaign that does that milestone justice. Here's to the next 150.
